A person attempted to break into the Union Bank of India branch at Cantonment in Tiruchi in the early hours of Saturday.
According to police sources, a masked suspect allegedly tried to break the locks on the bank’s grill gate using an iron rod. However, on hearing the sound of people nearby, the suspect fled the scene.
The Cantonment police inspected the spot with the assistance of sniffer dogs. A case has been registered, and investigations are under way.
