Bank of Baroda is recruiting 2,482 Local Bank Officers across 20 Indian states and union territories. The initiative aims to improve customer service by hiring candidates with local language proficiency and cultural understanding.
Why it matters
This large-scale recruitment drive highlights the banking sector's focus on regional integration and localized service delivery in India.
Bank of Baroda will recruit 2,482 Local Bank Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-1) on a regular basis across 20 States and Union Territories, including Karnataka.
Selected officers will be posted in the State for which they apply for the first 12 years of their service, or until their promotion to the SMGS-IV Grade, whichever is earlier. This deployment will help the bank build a workforce with strong local language proficiency and cultural understanding to deepen customer relationships and strengthen service delivery, a release from the bank said on Monday.
The initiative seeks to align the bank’s growth with regional development priorities by creating opportunities for local talent, thereby strengthening its presence in local markets.
