Bangalore Terriers return home after J&K deployment

The 106 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) PARA, popularly known as the ‘Bangalore Terriers’, has returned to its permanent location at Bengaluru, after a field tenure in Jammu & Kashmir from June 2023 to September 2026.
The battalion was deployed in an intense counter-terrorist operational environment in Jammu & Kashmir. The battalion is presently commanded by Colonel Tejas B. Candade, from 2 PARA (Special Forces).
The battalion also excelled in various competitions, emerging as the winner of the Inter-Battalion Platoon Competition, conducted under the aegis of the Formation Headquarters.
The Ministry of Defence said that the high training standards of the battalion were appreciated by various Formation Commanders in the chain of command.
The Ministry added that the Bangalore Terriers has returned home with valuable operational experience, enhanced training standards and renewed confidence, proud of their legacy, enriched by their field experience and ready to take on the challenges ahead.
