Ballari: RYMEC secures ₹24 lakh AICTE grant under Research Promotion Scheme

The Department of Electronics at Rao Bahadur Y. Mahabaleswarappa Engineering College (RYMEC), Ballari, has been awarded a research grant of ₹24 lakh under the AICTE Research Promotion Scheme (RPS) 2025-Lab to Market.
The project will be led by Savita Sonoli, vice-principal and researcher, along with Manasa K. Chigateri, associate professor and co-researcher.
The funded research proposal, titled ‘Efficient and Secured Content-Based Visual Information Retrieval System Using Deep Learning Techniques for Crime Prevention and Defence’, aims to develop an advanced visual information retrieval system powered by deep learning to support crime prevention and defence applications. The project focuses on improving the efficiency, accuracy, and security of content-based visual information retrieval, with potential applications in law enforcement and public safety.
