Somalia, 2 August 2026 - Somalia's Awoodda Shacabka Party has announced that it is ending its membership in the Haybad Qaran Alliance, citing political differences over the direction of the coalition. The party said it initially joined the alliance because it viewed it as a platform that could help advance a political settlement based on consultation, state-building and the will of the Somali people. According to a statement issued by the party, it had during its time in the alliance put forward proposals and positions focused on national stability, unity and resolving political disagreements through dialogue. The party, however, said its assessment changed following political developments after the Haybad Qaran Alliance aligned itself with the Future Council.
