An awareness rally was organised in Kongadai, a hill village in Bargur block of Anthiyur taluk, on Thursday to prevent students from dropping out. The rally was jointly organised by VET Arts and Science College and Sathyamangalam-based non-governmental organisation Service Unit for Development Activities (SUDAR).

The rally, led by SUDAR director S.C. Nataraj, was inaugurated by S. Selvakumar, a member of the Tamil Nadu Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Viswanathan, representing the District Child Protection Officer, and Gopalan, in-charge headmaster of Kongadai Tribal Residential Higher Secondary School, spoke on the occasion.
