Awareness programme on rabies held

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (RIVER) in association with National Rabies Control Programme and Puducherry State Health Mission held a rabies awareness programme.
Speakers at the event stressed the importance of ‘One Health’ approach, timely first aid following exposure, post-exposure prophylaxis and animal vaccination in tackling rabies cases. Various competitions were held as part of the World Rabies Day observance, a release said.
Director of Health and Family Welfare S. Sevvel and Dean RIVER K. Murugavel were among those who attended the programme.
