Share A A A An award-winning insurance broker from Sydney’s north has been identified as the victim of a fatal car crash in the US city of Nashville, one of four pedestrians allegedly hit by an 87-year-old driver after running a red light.
Timothy Wedlock, a 58-year-old who served as executive chairman of AEI Insurance Broking Group in North Sydney, was crossing the major intersection at Broadway and 4th Avenue in the downtown district when he was struck on Saturday.
Driver Thomas Cahill allegedly caused life-threatening injuries to two other pedestrians, while a fourth suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Footage of the crash shows a white sedan travelling through the intersection as oncoming pedestrians crossed the road. Nearby pedestrians rush to the aid of those injured in the collision.
