Award-winning case reveals hidden intraocular foreign body

The recognition was rewarding because it meant that both the case and presentation resonated with colleagues, said Auckland retinal surgeon Dr Bhikoo. “Being voted for by peers makes it particularly special because they understand the uncertainty, decision-making and technical challenges involved.”
His award-winning presentation detailed the case of a 58-year-old man who had been managed through the Greenlane Eye Clinic uveitis service for chronic unilateral anterior and intermediate uveitis. Despite intensive treatment, his condition remained difficult to control.
