‘Awarapan 2’ trailer: Emraan Hashmi’s Shivam returns with vengeance
The trailer for the action-thriller 'Awarapan 2', starring Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani, has been released. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film serves as a sequel to the 2007 cult classic and is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14.
Why it matters
The film marks the return of a popular franchise, highlighting the ongoing trend of legacy sequels in Indian cinema.
The trailer of Emraan Hashmi ’s upcoming action-thriller, Awarapan 2 , was unveiled by the makers on Thursday (August 6, 2026). Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film also stars Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi , Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Atul Kumar, Aniruddh Rawal and Puran Gabbi in pivotal roles.
The one-minute-twenty-five seconds trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot but offers a glimpse into the darker tone of the film, where Shabana’s character seems to be playing the villain. Emraan’s Shivam is getting tortured in front of her in the beginning as she remarks, “What a beautiful face. Do you like meeting with death?”.
