The much-awaited sequel has not only revived the impact of the original but has also turned into a major crowd-puller, with the film now moving steadily towards the Rs. 150 crore mark in India.The film benefited greatly from the Independence Day holiday period and maintained strong momentum throughout its first week. That trend continued into the second weekend, giving the romantic action drama another boost at the ticket window.On Day 8, ‘Awarapan 2’ earned Rs. 5.75 crore net from 9,858 shows. This took its India net collection to Rs. 136.25 crore, while the India gross reached Rs. 162 crore. The overseas market added another Rs. 1 crore, taking the film’s worldwide gross to Rs. 192 crore.The latest success has also helped Emraan Hashmi achieve a notable personal milestone.
