NEW DELHI: Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha leader Derek O'Brien on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the government's proposed delimitation legislation and the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment bill, describing the measures as 'draconian'.His letter comes a day before the start of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, with the opposition raising concerns over the Centre's legislative agenda.In the letter dated July 19, O'Brien said that while no delimitation-related legislation has been listed in the parliamentary bulletin for the Monsoon Session, the opposition remains apprehensive because of what he described as the government's 'dubious record' in handling important legislation.Referring to the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation bill, 2019, he alleged that the legislation was introduced in the Rajya Sabha before the supplementary list of business was circulated to MPs.
