Three persons have been arrested by the Avadi Police Commissionerate for possessing 18 kg of ganja. When the Ambattur Prohibition Enforcement Wing Police, under the Avadi Police Commissionerate, were on patrol at Meenakshi Nagar, Thirumullaivoyal on Tuesday they intercepted Arunkumar, a resident of Ambattur, based on suspicion. Subsequently, upon search, they found he had 8 kg of ganja which he procured from Odisha for sale, according to a press release. In another case the same day, the Poonamallee Prohibition Enforcement Wing intercepted two persons—Sujith and Roy Joy—near Parivakkam signal during surveillance. After questioning and search, they found each of them had 5 kg of ganja and they also had procured from Odisha. All three persons were arrested and further investigations are underway.
