Automated toll plaza becomes operational on Melur-Karaikudi four-lane highway
An automated toll plaza has officially begun operations on the Melur-Karaikudi four-lane highway in Tamil Nadu. The facility uses sensor-based technology and FASTag for toll collection to streamline traffic flow.

The automated toll plaza at Brahmanampatti on the Melur-Karaikudi four-lane highway became operational on Sunday.
The four-lane highway project, commenced in March 2020 at a cost of ₹1,070 crore, covers 45.8 km. The work was delayed due to various reasons, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and the road has only recently come into use.
Though vehicles had been permitted on the road for the past few days, toll collection began on Sunday at the Brahmanampatti automated toll plaza near Tirupathur in Sivaganga district. National Highways Authority Project Director Muruga Perumal inaugurated the plaza.
