Sri Sathya Sai district authorities have stepped up efforts to curb the illegal sale and transportation of ganja and other narcotic substances, directing various departments to work in coordination.
Joint Collector M. Mourya Bharadwaj and Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar issued the directions at a review meeting held at the Collectorate here on Friday.
Mr. Mourya Bharadwaj directed Drug Inspectors to take stringent action against medical shops selling intoxicant medicines without prescriptions. He asked railway officials, the Government Railway Police and the civil police to keep a close watch on the surroundings of railway stations and bus stands to disrupt the drug supply chain.
