Authorities rescued 17 unconscious women from the Manar beauty salon in the A-Tur neighborhood of Jerusalem on Wednesday, with some of them being in moderate condition while others were in more serious condition.Firefighters worked at the scene "to examine the circumstances of the incident, and rule out any further risk to the public," Israel Police said.According to the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority, an initial investigation indicated that a generator illegally connected to the building caused carbon monoxide (CO) to leak, which then accumulated inside the structure.Later on Wednesday, Jerusalem District Police detained three suspects for questioning in connection with the incident, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority said.The Israel Fire and Rescue Authority emphasized that there was no danger to nearby buildings.Twelve women evacuated to hospitalsTwelve of the women, aged 20 to 40, were evacuated to nearby hospitals, with seven in moderate condition and five in mild condition, according to Magen David Adom.The hospitals involved included Hadassah-University Medical Center in Jerusalem's Ein Kerem, Hadassah-University Medical Center on Jerusalem's Mount Scopus, and Shaare Zedek Medical Center, MDA said.According to Shaare Zedek, three women in moderate condition are currently being treated, with the hospital noting that all three are conscious.
