Audio clip of T.N. Minister Jagadeshwari ‘threatening’ TVK functionary goes viral
A leaked audio clip has surfaced featuring Tamil Nadu Minister K. Jagadeshwari allegedly threatening a political functionary regarding his activities in her constituency. This follows a previous controversy involving the Minister's dissatisfaction with protocol at a government event.
Why it matters
The viral audio raises questions about political ethics and the conduct of government officials in the newly elected TVK administration.
An audio clip of a conversation between Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Minister K. Jagadeshwari and a former TVK functionary, in which she allegedly threatens another TVK functionary has gone viral on social media.
The four-minute-long clip has Ms. Jagadeshwari talking over the phone to the now-suspended TVK functionary L. Rajaguru, allegedly a few days after the TVK came to power in May this year. Mr. Rajaguru was earlier the TVK party North West Union secretary. His suspension order was issued only on July 21, 2026 by the party Virudhunagar Central District secretary P. Chinnappar.
In the clip, Ms. Jagadeshwari can be heard asking Mr. Rajaguru whether he had visited the taluk office in Rajapalayam in her absence. He denies doing so, but points out that Lakshmanan, another party functionary, visited various offices in Rajapalayam and distributed sweets (celebrating the victory of the TVK).
