JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) - Jackson police have identified the man taken into custody following a threat at Jackson City Hall on Tuesday as 46-year-old James Andrew Farmer.
A rapid, coordinated response by the Jackson Police Department (JPD) and SWAT personnel safely secured City Hall on Tuesday morning following a report of a threat directed at municipal employees, according to a release from the city.
At approximately 11 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to City Hall, located at 101 E. Main St., established a secure perimeter and took action to safeguard staff and visitors inside the building, the release states. JPD officers, CID investigators and SWAT personnel brought the situation to a resolution, taking one individual into custody for questioning without further incident.
Charges against Farmer are pending as the investigation remains active, according to the release.
