Amid political tensions, the Koothuparamba block Congress committee office in Kannur, Keralam was allegedly attacked late Wednesday night, with the windowpanes and a portrait of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi damaged.
The office, located near the Koothuparamba municipality office was targeted by unidentified persons, according to Congress leaders. The attackers allegedly damaged the window glass and the portrait of Indira Gandhi kept inside the office.
Congress leaders alleged that CPI(M) workers were behind the attack. The allegation has not been independently established.
Based on a complaint filed by Congress office-bearers, the Koothuparamba police registered a case and launched an investigation.
