ATM heads to court over Western Cape High Court ruling

JOHANNESBURG – The African Transformation Movement is heading to the Constitutional Court to seek clarity on the implementation and effect of its order relating to the Section 89 impeachment process.
The party has instructed its legal team to approach the court on an urgent basis.
Last week, the Western Cape High Court granted President Cyril Ramaphosa an interim interdict preventing Parliament from proceeding with the public hearings of the impeachment inquiry.
In a statement, the party’s national spokesperson Zama Ntshona said they were concerned that the judgment has created significant constitutional uncertainty.
