ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Atlanta Botanical Garden is planning a major expansion that will connect the garden directly to the Atlanta Beltline.
The $160 million project will make the garden the first major arts and cultural institution with direct Beltline access, according to the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s website . Walkers and cyclists will be able to enter the garden directly from the Beltline.
“I think it’s a great idea, great initiative,” said Carl Romero, a Midtown Atlanta resident.
“I think it’s exciting because it’s more space,” said Savannah Hicks, a South Fulton resident.
The garden plans to transform nearly 8 acres along Piedmont Avenue and the Beltline’s Northeast Corridor, according to its website.
“With all this space, it’ll be even more beautiful. I’m really excited to see what it looks like,” said Erin Hicks, a South Fulton resident.
