THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 24-year-old newlywed from Neendakara has alleged that her husband and his family subjected her to brutal physical and psychological abuse over dowry, including kicking her in the abdomen, hitting her on the head with a pressure cooker and assaulting her private parts.The woman, Anju, a native of Mannathara, is currently undergoing treatment at Kollam District General Hospital.Chavara police have registered a case against her husband Nandu and his parents following her complaint.Anju and Nandu got married four months ago.
