Assam man arrested for smuggling heroin to Chennai
Guindy police in Chennai have arrested a housekeeper from Assam for smuggling heroin into the city via courier. The investigation revealed a small-scale drug trafficking ring involving the suspect and three accomplices who are currently being sought by authorities.

The Guindy police arrested a housekeeper, a native of Assam, for smuggling heroin to the city on Saturday. The police are also searching for three more suspects.
The police said a parcel had arrived at a courier office in the Guindy Industrial Estate, which appeared to be suspicious, during the sorting process. The courier company employees alerted the Guindy police who upon opening the parcel, found heroin.
Acting on the police instructions, the courier company contacted the recipient listed on the parcel named Rajib Hussain and asked him to come to Guindy to collect it. As he stepped out after collecting the parcel, a police team led by Inspector Michael Iruthayaraj arrested Rajib Hussain.
