Assam Governor highlights Sanskrit’s role in connecting heritage and modernity

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya formally launched a lecture series (Vyakhyanamala) in memory of renowned scholar Pattabhirama Sastry at National Sanskrit University (NSU) campus here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Acharya called Sanskrit language as the link between ancient Indian heritage and the modern generation and hoped that the university would continue to serve as a bridge between the two.
He called upon all the students to study the scientific aspects hidden in Sanskrit, decipher them, and pass on the benefits to the future generations. The National Education Policy 2020 had made a path-breaking progress in blending the ancient subjects with their modern counterparts, thus benefitting the world at large, he added.
