ASRock DeskSlim packs 125W desktop CPUs and discrete GPUs into a 5L PC

ASRock has released the DeskSlim X600 and B760, compact 5-liter PCs that support high-wattage desktop CPUs and discrete GPUs. Unlike many mini-PCs, these systems feature socketed processors and standard DDR5 DIMM slots for better performance and upgradeability.
Why it matters
These systems bridge the gap between small-form-factor convenience and the high-performance capabilities of traditional desktop workstations.
ASRock has detailed its DeskSlim X600 and B760 systems, two compact 5-liter PCs that retain several features normally associated with much larger desktop systems. Both use socketed desktop processors, four DDR5 DIMM slots and a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for discrete graphics.
The DeskSlim X600 is based on AMD’s AM5 socket and supports Ryzen 9000, Ryzen 8000 and Ryzen 7000 processors with CPU power support up to 120W. The DeskSlim B760 uses Intel’s LGA1700 socket for 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Core processors, with support extending to 125W CPUs.
That makes these systems different from many similarly sized Mini PCs that rely on soldered mobile processors and SO-DIMM memory. ASRock instead provides four standard DDR5 DIMM slots on both models, supporting up to 256GB of memory and advertised speeds of DDR5-7200+ through overclocking.
