Asogli 2026 Yam Festival (Te Za) rounded off with durbar

The Asogli traditional area in Ghana concluded its 2026 Yam Festival with a grand durbar in Ho. The event focused on themes of national development, infrastructure investment, and the empowerment of women and youth.
Why it matters
The festival serves as a platform for government officials to engage with traditional authorities on regional development and national unity.
The chiefs, queens and people of Asogli on Saturday rounded off their 2026 Te Za (yam festival) with a grand durbar at the Ho Jubilee Park.
The six-week celebration was on the theme: United in Purpose, Investing in People and Infrastructure for Sustainable National Development. The guest of honour was the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Dr Julius Debrah.
He commended the Agbogbomefia of Asogli, Togbe Afede XIV for guiding his people in the right direction over the years, saying this concern for jobs for the youth and the empowerment of women entrepreneurs were reassuring of his firm stance to support progress, not only in Asogli, but in the country as a whole.
Dr Debrah said the Volta Region continued to occupy a special place in the heart of the government and central development plans.
