Vatican News On Friday July 17, at Palazzo San Carlo in the Vatican, the Supervisory and Financial Information Authority (ASIF) and the Deutsche Bundesbank signed a memorandum of understanding on technical cooperation between the two institutions. On behalf of the Deutsche Bundesbank, the memorandum was signed by Dr. Burkhard Balz, Member of the Executive Board, and on behalf of ASIF by its Director, Federico Antellini Russo. Strengthening credibility within the international financial community The agreement represents a further strengthening of the relationship between the supervisory authority for the financial sector of the Holy See and the Vatican City State and the Central Bank of the Federal Republic of Germany. This relationship has developed steadily over the years and has been significantly enhanced in recent months. The partnership has also been made possible by the Holy See's clear commitment to strengthening its financial architecture in line with international standards.
