E. Blessing Saju, a gold medallist from Kanniyakumari district, who clinched top honours at 10 th and 11 th Asian para taekwondo championships held in Malaysia and Mongolia respectively, is still awaiting an eligible government job and recognition from the State government for his achievements..
The 26-year-old player hails from Saral Vilai, a village near Muttaikadu in Kanniyakumari district. Competing in the K41 Men -63 kg category, he registered his footmark by winning gold medals in two consecutive editions of Asian para taekwondo championships.
Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Saju said that he was born without two hands. Despite his disability, he had led an independent life like anyone else. After completing his schooling, Mr. Saju earned a B. Com degree from Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education in Kumaracoil.
