Asian Games: Athletics leads India’s 8-medal haul, boxing assures more

NEW DELHI: India enjoyed another medal-rich day at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday, winning eight medals across athletics, shooting and kurash while also securing more medals in boxing. Yet the haul came with a familiar mix of celebration and disappointment, as several Indian athletes came agonisingly close to the podium.The eight medals included four silver and four bronze, with Yashvir Singh and Rohit Yadav winning a javelin double, Murali Sreeshankar taking long jump silver, Gulveer Singh adding his second silver of the Games and Esha Singh claiming silver in the women's 25m pistol.
