India has secured six medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with strong performances in shooting and a historic bronze in Mixed Martial Arts. The country currently holds the 13th spot in the overall medal tally.

The 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games are underway in Japan. With six medals, India is currently placed at the 13th spot in the medal tally which is topped by China.
Shooters have led the charge for India, garnering five medals. Experienced rifle shooter Elavenil Valarivan played a starring role in the country’s double-silver haul in the women’s 10m air rifle competition. Elavenil, one of India’s most accomplished rifle shooters, helped the country secure silver in the team event along with Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod. She then went on to add an individual silver.
For the men’s side, teenager Himanshu Dhillon produced a superb performance to win silver, while former world champion Rudrankksh Patil clinched bronze as India secured two individual podium finishes in the men’s 10m air rifle event. The two then teamed up with Parth Mane to win another silver in the team event, finishing just behind China.
