The Annie Automatic musician shared that he and his wife Ashley Tisdale haven't let the backlash over her essay about breaking up with her " toxic mom group " affect their day-to-day lives.
"We're doing fine," French told Page Six in an interview published Sept. 30. "She's a super smart, capable person, and she knows what she's doing and that's part of what I love about her."
In fact, the Recovering podcast host—who shares daughters Jupiter , 5, and Emerson , 2, with Tisdale—said that he never felt the need to get involved in the controversy.
"I have no problem supporting my wife completely in her ability to deal with her own interpersonal relationships in whatever way [she] feels is right for her," French explained, "without getting involved or feeling like I have to speak for her."
