ASEAN pushes for investment in digital infrastructure, clean energy

ASEAN is prioritizing investments in digital infrastructure and clean energy as part of its long-term development agenda, the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. The initiative aims to improve regional connectivity and sustainability through collaborative planning and financing support.
Why it matters
Coordinated infrastructure development is essential for the economic growth and climate resilience of Southeast Asian nations in an increasingly digital global economy.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is pushing for more investments in digital infrastructure, and clean energy, according to a statement by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development.
The move comes as the union commences its implementation of a long-term development agenda under the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
