The Gunners unveiled Guimaraes in front of their home fans on Sunday, with the Brazilian walking out onto the pitch ahead of the pre-season defeat to Borussia Dortmund .
Guimaraes signed for £75million from Newcastle and is the third new arrival , following Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis in joining the club this summer.
Piero Hincapie's move has also been made permanent but the Gunners remain in the market for more.
Arsenal are still trying to strengthen further in attack and also want to bring in a versatile defender, particularly with Jurrien Timber and William Saliba unavailable .
Asked if fans could expect further signings this summer, Arteta replied: "Well that's what we're trying to do.
