Arrested DCB Inspector placed under suspension
A District Crime Branch Inspector in Thanjavur has been suspended following his arrest in an extortion case. The suspension was ordered by the Deputy Inspector-General of the Thanjavur Range.

Sugumaran, Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Thanjavur, who was earlier arrested by the Crime Branch CID in an extortion case, has been placed under suspension.
The suspension order was issued by the Deputy Inspector-General, Thanjavur Range, Ziaul Haque, on October 12, the police said.
