Armed gang kills construction worker; six held by Virudhunagar district police

A 26-year-old construction worker named Akash was murdered by an armed gang in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. Police have arrested six suspects following an investigation into a long-standing personal enmity.

A construction worker identified as Akash, 26, son of Naganathan of Senthanenthal near Tiruchuli police station limits was murdered by an armed gang on Monday. Police investigations on Tuesday suggested that Akash had a previous enmity with Murugan. For sometime, Murugan, it is alleged, had planned to retaliate Akash.
On Monday, when he was riding his bike from Tiruchuli-Kamudi Road, he was intercepted by the gang at Panayur. Within a few minutes, the gang, attacked him with knives and other sharp weapons in which Akash died.
