Areas under Royapuram and Teynampet zones may experience sewage issues on September 18 and 19

Residents in Chennai's Royapuram and Teynampet zones are advised of potential sewage disruptions between September 18 and 19. The service suspension is necessary to facilitate major sewer pipeline interconnection work by the Chennai Metro Rail Limited.

Some areas falling under Royapuram and Teynampet zones may experience sewage issues from September 18 night to September 19 afternoon as sewage pumping stations will not be operated. This is to facilitate works, to be carried out by the Chennai Metro Rail Limited.
A press release from Chennai Metrowater said interconnection work of a major sewer pipeline on Ramakrishna Math Road in Teynampet zone would be taken up by CMRL. Sewage pumping stations, including in Border Thottam, Ram Nagar, Arunachalam Street, and Ice House, would not be operated between 10 p.m. on September 18 and 2 p.m. on September 19 until the work is completed.
