APTF threatens protest from September 2 over TET

The Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation (APTF) has demanded that in-service teachers be exempted from the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The federation has also urged the government to conduct the examination in the offline mode with a pass mark of 40%, as part of the special TET notification issued for in-service teachers.
Speaking at an emergency meeting of the APTF State sub-committee called on Thursday, federation’s president Chennupati Manjula and general secretary K. Basavalinga Rao said if the government failed to concede their demands by September 1, they would be forced to take the confrontation path and stage a protest in front of Vidya Bhavan from September 2 to 11.
