APSRTC has reported a 40% increase in occupancy for its Aero Express bus services connecting Visakhapatnam to Bhogapuram International Airport. The regional manager also announced a recruitment drive for heavy vehicle drivers to support the growing fleet.
Why it matters
The success of these transit services indicates improved connectivity and infrastructure growth in the Visakhapatnam region.
Visakhapatnam Regional Manager B. Appala Naidu on Saturday (September 5, 2026) inspected the Aero Express bus services operating from Old Gajuwaka to Bhogapuram International Airport.
Reviewing the fleet operations, he stressed that 10 buses currently run from Old Gajuwaka via NAD and Maddilapalem Highway to the international airport, while another 10 services operate via Scindia, the Railway Station, RTC Complex, and RK Beach.
Highlighting passenger convenience, Mr. Naidu stated that these journeys take approximately two hours and adhere to scheduled timings. Commuters can track the buses in real-time by downloading the APSRTC mobile application from the Google Play Store, or check schedules directly via Google.
Emphasising the positive public response, he reported that the occupancy ratio has surged by up to 40% daily and urged air passengers to make the most of the dedicated facility.
