APSRTC JAC reaches out to unions, student groups to intensify protest
The APSRTC Employees’ Joint Action Committee is intensifying its protest against the government, seeking support from student groups and other unions. They are demanding the resolution of employee issues, the filling of vacant posts, and assurances against the privatization of the transport corporation.

As part of their decision to step up the agitation, leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Public Transport Department (APSRTC) Employees’ Joint Action Committee (RTC JAC) met the AP JAC Chairman and the State president and general secretary of the APNGOs on Sunday (August 9, 2026), and appealed for their support to their agitation over the issues of RTC employees.
The RTC JAC leaders said despite their peaceful protests staged in the past two months seeking resolution of their problems, the government had not responded. As part of the third phase of the agitation, they sought support from other employee organisations.
They met APNGOs State president and AP JAC Chairman A. Vidya Sagar and general secretary A.V. Ramana at the APNGO Home.
