APSPDCL connects 50,000 services to grid with rooftop solar initiative
APSPDCL has reached a milestone by connecting 50,000 services to the grid under its rooftop solar initiative in Andhra Pradesh. The utility is actively working to expand solar access to SC and ST households, aiming to complete installations for over 200,000 homes soon.

Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) announced on Monday that it has reached the milestone of connecting 50,000 services to the grid. It has become the first electricity distribution company (DISCOM) among the three in the State to connect 50,000 services to the grid under the rooftop solar systems being implemented.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh secured fourth position at the national level in the installation of rooftop solar systems. As part of its efforts to promote the use of non-conventional energy resources, APSPDCL has accelerated the works to make solar power available to SC and ST families. It also focussed on installing rooftop solar systems with a total capacity of 415 MW on 2.07 lakh houses across nine districts.
