APSCPCR assures strict legal action in Nellore rape case involving disabled minor

Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) member K.G. Venkata Padma Latha said that strict legal action will be taken against the accused in the rape of a disabled minor girl, who is undergoing treatment at Government General Hospital (GGH) in Nellore.
Addressing media here on Tuesday (October 6, 2026), she said, “The victim is a girl with an intellectual disability. The police have already arrested the accused who committed the heinous crime. She is receiving improved medical care at the GGH.”
Assuring full moral support to the victim’s family on behalf of the government, the APSCPCR member directed the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS) Project Director to provide livelihood support to the family through skill development, as requested by the girl’s mother.
