Appoint Additional DRM-level officer for Mangaluru Railway Region, demands activist Prakash Mandoth

Railway activist Prakash Mandoth has urged the Ministry of Railways to appoint an Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) for the newly integrated Mangaluru Railway Region. He argues that a dedicated senior officer is necessary to oversee infrastructure development and service improvements in the region.
Why it matters
Infrastructure governance and administrative oversight are critical for the economic development of regional transport hubs in India.
Welcoming the historic step of integrating Mangaluru Railway Region with South Western Railway (SWR), eminent railway activist Prakash Mandoth has urged the Railway Ministry to immediately establish additional divisional railway manager (ADRM) office in Mangaluru for the comprehensive development of the region.
Mr. Mandoth, a former member of Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committees of South Western and Southern Railway, told The Hindu that an experienced and senior officer should be posted to handle post-integration issues and take forward development activities of Mangaluru. While the region did not witness adequate development for the past three decades, it is now time to unleash a host of infrastructure development activities and introduction of new trains, he said.
