Why it matters
The release demonstrates Apple's continued focus on integrating health diagnostics and on-device AI processing into wearable technology.
Apple has launched the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4, both built around a new health sensing system and the S11 chip. The Series 12 starts at Rs 56,900 and the Ultra 4 at Rs 1,09,900. Pre-orders open today, with stores getting stock on Friday, September 18.The sensors are where the year's work has gone. New optical and electrical heart sensors, larger green LEDs and a wider electrode surface let both watches read heart rate every five seconds through the day and sample heart rate variability up to 24 times more often than before. Apple claims the most accurate heart rate sensing in any wearable, citing a study of more than 1,000 people against rival devices.
