Apple Upgrade program is coming next week with up to 36-month payment plans
Apple is launching a new device leasing program called Apple Upgrade in partnership with Klarna, replacing its existing iPhone Upgrade Program. The service offers 24-month leases for phones and watches, and 36-month leases for iPads and Macs, though some base models are excluded.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is planning to launch a new device leasing program in partnership with Klarna. It will be called Apple Upgrade and will require a soft credit check. It will apparently work like a subscription, with iPhone and Apple Watch leases running for 24 months and iPad and Mac leases running for 36 months.
The Apple Watch SE , the base iPad , the iPhone 16 , and the MacBook Neo will be excluded from the program. You will be able to pay off the device early and upgrade early to a new model, as well as decide whether to return or keep the device at the end of the lease.
Apple Upgrade will not include AppleCare, unlike the existing iPhone Upgrade Program. Speaking of which, Apple allegedly plans to discontinue the iPhone Upgrade Program when Apple Upgrade launches on July 28.
