Apple’s last-gen Mac Mini with the M4 is $150 off

Best Buy is offering a discount on the M4 Mac Mini, bringing the price down to $649. The article compares the value of the M4 model against the newer M6 version to help consumers decide which desktop is the better purchase.
Why it matters
Price drops on previous-generation hardware provide value-conscious consumers with opportunities to acquire capable computing equipment at a lower cost.

Normally, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to buy the M4 model for its usual $799 price given that the newer, faster M6 version has been available from Amazon for $779.99 (originally $899) for the past couple of weeks. However, at $649 it’s a much more tempting price. The M4 Mac Mini launched at $599 in 2024, and was an incredible value. Given that this sale price makes it just $50 more than the original price instead of $200, it’s a good time to buy if you want to spend as little as possible on a modern Mac desktop.
