Apple iPhone Duo challenges Samsung’s Z Fold 8: How do they stand against each other?
Apple has unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, which is set to compete directly with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8. The device features a titanium build, 2nm A20 Pro silicon, and a premium price point significantly higher than its Samsung counterpart.

Apple’s Surprise and Shine event did surprise tech enthusiasts as it deviated from the usual game plan by not launching a base iPhone 18 variant, and by unveiling their first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo .
With the iPhone Duo, the Cupertino-based trillion-dollar company will compete against foldable makers like Samsung and Huawei, and also Google.
Even though Samsung is into its eighth iteration of foldable , Apple flexing its display for the first time may attract users to have a sense what an iOS-operating foldable phone could offer. iPhone Duo directly competes with Galaxy Z Fold 8 — a new passport-style foldable phone that is heavily integrated with Samsung’s One UI 9 software on top of Galaxy AI.
The iPhone’s Duo comes in a titanium build and has retained the same passport-style design with a stylus support as well, which Samsung dropped in the last series.
