The foldable iPhone Duo could eventually acquire siblings. Abrar Al-Heeti/CNET Apple could be planning a family of foldable phones in the next few years, building on its newly announced iPhone Duo , according to one tipster.
Trusted Apple leaker Mark Gurman of Bloomberg predicts that Apple will eventually sell more than the basic foldable iPhone Duo. In fact, he says Apple may have chosen the three-letter name Duo — similar to Air and Pro — because a short name “leaves room for a suffix” such as Max or Mini.
“It’s easy to foresee Apple launching an iPhone Duo Max with a larger display, or perhaps an iPhone Duo SE or iPhone Duo mini as either a stripped-down version or a clamshell model,” he writes.
