A Danish delegation visited Amaravati on Tuesday as part of the implementation of the India-Denmark Energy Partnership (INDEP) and held discussions with officials of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) on strengthening the capital city’s power infrastructure.

The delegation visited the APCRDA headquarters at Rayapudi, where discussions focused on planning and designing a 33-kV power grid and enhancing its capacity to meet Amaravati’s future electricity demand. The talks also covered the integration of renewable energy sources, Distributed Energy Resources (DRE), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and infrastructure for electric vehicle charging.

The two sides discussed the possibility of adapting best practices from Denmark’s power sector to Amaravati’s requirements. They also explored sharing technical expertise and experience in developing and managing electricity systems and pursuing further technical cooperation.
