Anwar, Zahid congratulate men's sepak takraw team for ending 36-year wait for Asian Games gold
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated the national men's sepak takraw squad on winning the team regu gold medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Friday (Sept 25).
He described their success in ending the country's 36-year wait to reclaim the gold medal, which was also Malaysia's fourth gold at Asiad 2026, as a highly meaningful victory and a source of pride for all Malaysians.
"Syabas (Well done) Malaysia. Continue to bring glory to Malaysia,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also congratulated the national men's sepak takraw squad.
