Anwar’s bid to first hear key issues in Yusoff’s suit succeeds

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has succeeded in his bid to have five preliminary issues in a civil suit brought by his former research assistant, Yusoff Rawther, over an alleged assault in 2018 determined before the trial.
Anwar wanted several issues concerning Yusoff’s movement and presence at his private residence on the day of the alleged incident determined first, either through affidavit evidence or private proceedings without media present.
He contended that determining these issues could potentially dispose of the entire suit without a full trial.
